Howlin' Wolf - 1960 - Spoonful

Spoonful

It could be a spoonful of coffee
it could be a spoonful of tea
but one little spoon of your precious love
is good enough for me
Men lie about that spoonful
some cry about that spoonful
some die about that spoonful
everybody fight about a spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
It could be a spoonful of water
to save you from the desert sand
but one spoon of love1 from my forty-five
will save you from another man
men lie about that spoonful
some cry about that spoonful
some die about that spoonful
everybody fight about a spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
It could be a spoonful of sugar
it could be a spoonful of tea
but one little spoon of your precious love
is good enough for me
men lie about that spoonful
some cry about that spoonful
some die about that spoonful
everybody fight about a spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
that spoon, that spoon, that spoonful

La letra original:

Gypsy woman told my mother
Before I was born
She said "You got a boy-child coming,
Gonna be a son-of-a-gun
He gonna make pretty women
Jump and shout
And the world's gonna know
What's it all about"

Don't you know what I'm saying!
  Yeah, everybody knows I'm him
I said I'm your hoochie coochie man
  You'd better believe I'm him!

I've got a black cat bone
I've got a mojo too
I've got a little bottle of Johnny confidence
I'm gonna mess with you
Hey! I'll pick you up
Lead you by the hand
And the world's gonna know
I'm your hoochie coochie man

Don't you know what I'm saying!                                       Escuchar OTRAS VERSIONES
Yeah! Every body knows I'm him!
Said I'm your hoochie coochie man
  You'd better believe I'm him!

On the seventh hour
Of the seventh day
Of the seventh month
Seven black girls say
He was born for good luck
And you will see
I got seven hundred dollars, baby,
Don't you mess with me!

Don't you know what I'm saying!
Yeah! Every body knows I'm him!
Said I'm your hoochie coochie man
  You'd better believe I'm him!
